This deed made this 8th day of May 1682 between Thomas T Bouldin and Fanny W his wife of the first part, and Charles H. Rhodes of the second part. Witnesseth, that in consideration of the sum of Eleven Thousand four hundred and Ninety eight dollars and forty cents ($11498.40) to them in hand paid & secured to be paid, the said parties of the first part, do grant unto the said party of the second part, all their right title and interest in a certain tract or parcel of land lying on Meherrin river in the county of Brunswick, and containing by recent survey nine hundred and fifty eight and two tenth acres (958 2/10) be the same more or less; the metes and bounds of which are as follows: Beginning at W.H. Venable's lower corner on Meherrin river and running thence with his line N 3/4 degree° W 280 poles to the road from Pennington's bridge to Lawrenceville, thence along the middle of said road N 45 1/2° E 28 1/2° poles, thence N 58 1/2° E 45 4/10 poles, thence N. 49° E 22 poles along the trace of the old road, thence N. 47° E 25 2/10 poles along said trace to flat rock branch, thence N. 62° E 24 poles to the present road thence N. 51 E 60 1/2 poles, thence N. 67 1/2° E 55 poles, thence N.70 1/2° E 46 poles to the road leading to Union church, thence along said road S 49 1/4° E 22 poles to a white oak on Thomas Flournoy's line, thence with his line S 2° W 119 1/2 poles to a large corner White Oak, thence N. 89 1/4° E 27 poles to a White Oak on Hicks; thence N 84° E 93 1/2 poles to a post oak passing Hicks' & Britts corner Gum, immediately on the side of Flournoy's is Church road, thence N 83° E 25 8/10 poles to a stake on Flournoy's line, thence with his line S 1° W 11 poles to a Red Oak, thence and if  S 39 4/10 poles to a red oak, thence S 1/4° W 102 6/10 poles to a
