by sale, confiscation or otherwise so far as they know - That as the lands of Wm B. Whitehead adjoining have been directed to be restored to him, they hope that there is no longer any necessity to retain theirs - That the said Mary Savage & her younger sons are now anxiously awaiting possession to go to work to raise a crop for another year -

They further state that they do not come under any of the exceptions named in the proclamation of May 29th 1865.

They therefore respectfully ask for the restoration of their land and houses above referred to.
