This indenture made the 2nd day April 1855 Between William M. Peyton & S A E Peyton his wife of the County Roanoke in the State of Virginia of the first part and the several stockholders of the Norfolk Oil Company and their successors their heirs & assigns in their proportional interest said Company being organized on the 14th May 1853 under a Charter passed by the General Assembly of Virginia on 2nd day March 1853 and now located in Norfolk of the state aforesaid 

Of the second part witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of $2524. to them paid which is hereby acknowledged, do grant unto the said shareholders of the Norfolk Oil Company their successors heirs & assigns a certain tract or Parcel of Land situate in the City of Norfolk bounded & described as follows 

Beginning on the South side of Wood Street at the Easterly intersection with second Cross St thence along the line the South Side of Wood Street to the middle of N Eutow Creek as called and thence commencing again at the corner said Cross St and thence running Southerly in a line of said Cross St. to the middle of the marsh thence down the middle of said marsh to the middle of the creek aforesaid thence by the middle of said creek to the place of beginning in the center of said creek first mentioned with all the Buildings Priviledges and appurtenances to the same belonging Being the same Tract Deeded to him by James E. Doyle & wife on the 8th November 1853 it being intended by the said Peyton & wife to convey to the said Norfolk Oil Company all its Rights, Title, and Interests vested in them by the aforesaid Deed from Doyle & wife to them & no more. In witness thereof the said Peyton & Wife hereunto set their hands & seals the day & year above written
