abandoned her property. She had not resided in Portsmouth since [[strikethrough]] July [[/strikethrough]] June of 1856. From that time to the time of her death her home was in this city. She never abandoned her property. She was cut off from it by the occupation of Norfolk & Portsmouth, by the U.S. Troops, and was so cut off to the day of her death. If the papers have reached your office please give them your attention as soon as you can, & if any further documents are necessary, let me know.
