This Indenture made the twenty second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine between William Shippen of the City of Philadelphia Doctor of Medicine and Mary Louisa his wife of the one part and Thomas Lee Shippen (son of the said William Shippen and Mary Louisa his wife) of the said city of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Shippen and Mary Louisa his wife for and in consideration of the natural love and affection [[strikethrough]] placed [[/strikethrough]] they have and been unto the said Thos Lee Shippen and also for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said Thos Lee Shippen at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge have given granted alined enfeofed and confirmed and by these presents do give grant alien enfeoffed and confirmed unto the said Thos Lee Shippen his heirs and assigns all that certain plantation or track of land situated in the County of Chesterfield in the state of Virginia known as Arrowfield bounded by the waters of Swift Creek and Finesburg run and the land of Dunlop and Hatcher or howsoever the same may be butted or bounded as the same is now held and and enjoyed by the said William Shippen and Mary Louisa his wife containing six hundred and sixty five acres by estimation more or less [Being the same plantation or track of land which Thos Shore late of said County of Chesterfield purchased of one David Ross in fee simple] Together with all and singular, the houses buildings ways woods water causes
