Sir,
The following statement in relation to my property on Bute Street in the City of Norfolk is respectfully submitted to your consideration. I have received a pardon from the President of the United States, bearing date, the 11th August 1865, and have accepted the same & accepted on the 22d Sept 1865. By virtue [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] thereof I claim the restoration, by your Bureau, so far as it has jurisdiction, of my property in its custody. 

The title to the said property is shown by the enclosed certificate of the Clerk of the Court of the Corporation of the City of Norfolk.
