intention of keeping the Law inviolate & that ever since has kept & observed the Law and intends so to do for all time to come That he is not among any of the classes or persons excepted from the benefits of the Amnesty Proclamation of President Johnson nor of President Lincolns proclamations and That on the 6th day of June instant he took the oath prescribed in the Proclamation of President Johnson a certified copy of which is hereto annex'd marked "B." Your petitioner would further state that a portion of his said farm is now in possession of the U.S. Government and is being worked by Freedmen In consideration of the premises your petitioner would respectfully ask that his said farm be immediately turned over to him he being willing & hereby offers to pay the U.S. Government or whoever may be entitled to receive the same for the crops now on said farm & the improvements placed thereon at a fair valuation and he asks for immediate possession of such portions of said farm as are not now under cultivation by the Government or its agents. And your petitioner will earn pray &c
