On this 3rd day of October, Eighteen hundred and sixty five before me the undersigned a notary public in and for the city aforesaid in the state of Virginia, duly commissioned and qualified and authorized by the laws of said sate to administer oaths for general purposes in said city, personally appeared with W. Silvester, who being by me first duly sworn, doth depose and say, that he has read the Presidents Proclamation of the 29th May 1865, in which certain immunities and privileges are promised to those engaged in the late rebellion against the Govt. of the United States, and in which certain persons are particularly excepted; and that the case of [[strikethrough]] the case of [[/strikethrough]] the said deponent does not Come within any one of said exceptions so Contained in said proclamation, as he verily believes.
