A reference to Mrs Johns petition and [[?]] as her Trustee will shew that I claimed for her the benefit of the Amnesty but the Bureau had not then settled the question as now it has done under Circular No. 15 of the benefit of which by permission of Genl Howard as shown by the accompanying letter from the Bureau of 9th Sept 1865 I now avail myself.

The proof of title having been already furnished and endorsed on the original Petition it is unnecessary I presume to trouble you again on that point, considering it as settled. I now send the further proofs required by Circular Number 15th viz. Certificate of W.H Barry Clerk U.S. District Court that the property has not been confiscated or Libelled in the U.S. Court. Also Certificate from same that no proceedings have been commenced against the property of John Southgate son of Mrs Johns who owns the fee in the House on Granby Street in which his mother has dower.
