Elizabeth City County Va March 21 1866

The petition of Judith Stores of the town of Hampton in the County of Elizabeth City
Respectfully represents
   
That she is the owner in fee of a certain lot of land situated in the town of Hampton bounded and described as follows. "bounded by Queen Street Lake and Peek"  That she had possession of the said lot up to June 1865 without molestation at which time she has been informed it was placed on the Books of the Freedmens Bureau  That she is in possession of the said lot and now resides thereon

She files herewith the following evidences of her title

1st. Certificate from the Clerk of the U.S. district court at Norfolk that the property has not been the subject of any proceedings by way of libel for  confiscation marked A.

2nd. Certification of the Clerk of the County Court of Elizabeth City that the records of the County shows her to be the owner of said lot marked B.

3rd. Certificate of her having taken the Amnesty Oath prescribed by the president of the United States by his proclamation dated 29 May 1865 marked C.
