Maj Genl Terry
Sir

I have the honor to submit to you an application to have my farm called the Point of Rocks located in the county of Chesterfield returned to me. This farm was taken possession of by the United States Troops in the month of May 1864 and has been used by the authorities of the United States Government as a hospital: the purpose for which it was used. having terminated and the hospital broken up I now ask that I may be restored to the possession of the farm
I am a loyal citizen of the U.S. Government and have complied with all the orders and proclamations of the President published amid the rebellion and I claim the protection of the Government to which I owe and render allegiance as prescribed by the late President in his proclamation of the 8" Dec 1863 - and I am not embraced in any of the exceptions of the amnesty proclamation of President Johnson of the 29" May 1865
I am over fifty three years of age, and a quiet and peaceable citizen and desire only to enjoy the rights which the laws of my country confer upon me.

I am most respectfully &c
