5. On the 24th day of November A.D. 1865, Your petitioner paid all the Costs in said proceedings, as will appear by reference to the Receipt therefor of the Clerk of the District Court of the United States for the District of Virginia aforesaid, herewith filed, marked (D.)

6 Under the circumstances, your petitioner prays that the said lots (Nos. 234 & 236, Church Street, Norfolk Virginia) shall be formally surrendered to him, for his own benefit; and that the rents and profits received by the said Bureau, may be paid to him for his life benefit: And Your Petitioner, as in duty bound, will every pray to.
