Portsmouth Va. Dec 8th. 1865.

Sir.
Your Petitioner begs leave to represent that he was the owner of the certain lot piece or parcel of land with the appurtenances thereon situate and being in that part of Portsmouth called Gosport and described as follows: "Lot No 4 on the plan of the Gosport lots on Fourth Street adjoining No 3 on the South extending thirty feet three inches on said Street and running back by lines parallel with Henry Street one hundred and twenty feet; I ask most respectfully that said property may be returned to me. I hereby on oath declare that I do not come within any of the  excepted clauses of the President's Proclamation of the 29th of May 1865 and that I have taken the oath under said proclamation as appears by the certificate herewith filed and marked. A This property is not worth $20.000. 
All which is respectfully submitted and your petitioner will ever pray.
