Respectfully returned, with information that I have investigated into the condition of the "Freedmen" upon the within named "Farm" and find that six families have resided upon the same, during the war and they appear to report confidence in Mr Wheeler and think they will be delt fairly with, if the Farm should be restored. Mr Wheeler has, I believe, expressed his willingness to rent the "Farm" to the "Freedmen" at the established rates, if such is the case, I would most respectfully recommend its restoration. No improvements have been made upon the land in question since it was taken possession of by the Bureau
