0924 (COPY.) AMNESTY OATH, AS PRESCRIBED IN PRESIDENT JOHNSON'S PROCLAMATION OF MAY 29, 1865. I do solemnly swear, in the presence of Almighty God, that I will henceforth faithfully support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and the Union of the States thereunder; and that I will, in like manner, abide by, and faithfully support, all Laws and Proclamations which have been made during the existing Rebellion, with reference to the Emancipation of Slaves------So help me God. L.A. Moon Alexandria, Va. September 25th, 1865 I hereby certify that the above is a Copy of the Amnesty Oath this day taken before me, a Justice of the Peace for the County of Alexandria, the Original of which has been sent to the DEPARTMENT OF STATE at Washington.
