Brown Comr F Bureau D'r Sir In accordance with instructions of Genl Cooper Comr Freedmans Bureu I herewith Make Another application for the Restoration of my Farm at York Town called "Temple Farm" coming under none of the 13 exceptions in the Presidents Proclamation and having take the Oath prescribd by Mr Lincoln before the issue of President Johnson, a coppy of which I according to instructions hereto inscribed which is regarded as equivalent to pardon. Provost Marshal's Office District of Va Norfolk Va May 20 1865 This is to certify that Saml C White aged Sixty five Occupation Farmer resident Virginia has taken and subscribed the Oath and Parole required for a Loyal Citizen of the United States residing in a state in rebelion or has sympathies with the seceeding states.
