present lessees from the Government, if there are any, be allowed to retain possession until the expiration of their leases.
Nothing in the Order of restoration to be construed as giving any claim upon the Government for damages or for rents which have accrued prior to the 19th day of August 1865, the date of Mr. Whitehead's pardon.
