Sir,
I have the honor respectfully to ask for the restoration of my lot in the town of Hampton It is now occupied by a freedman named Robert Smith from Williamsburg Va. I will rent it to him at a fair price. I will buy his little House at fair valuation, or I will give him ample time to remove it,
I enclose President Johnson's Amnesty Oath, duly executed together with certificate of clerk of this county court. showing that I am the legal owner,
I took the late President Lincoln's oath, on the 19" May 1865. This lot is the only peice of property I own, I respectfully ask a favorable consideration of the matter and am very respectfully
