Capt.
I have the honor to make the following report of my investigation concerning the property claimed by Mrs. Sally U. Winder, and which she petitions to have restored to her.
1st - The property alluded to is the undivided estate of the heirs of Nathaniel J. Winder, decd. Mrs. Sally U. Winder owning but her dower right - one third. The remaining two/thirds was left for equal distribution between three other heirs - one of them being Richd B. Winder Rebel Comy. & [[?]] at Andersonville Prison, who is indicted with Wertz - the other two being females.
2nd Mrs Sally U. Winder claims to have left here for no political reason, but in order to be with her relatives, who resided within the rebel lines: she returned to this shore about a month before the fall of Richmond; she was physically unable from her age, sex, & infirmities from rendering any personal aid to the rebellion.
I am, very respectfully,
your obdt. servat,

Transcription Notes:
Missing one word described Richard B. Winder. I can find some documentation about him as Commissary/Quartermaster connected to Andersonville Prison.
