William Thornton - Cold. - who rented Oakland, is desirous to pay his rent but was ordered by Cap. Wilder to pay it to him.

Thornton knowing that the possession of Oakland had once been given me by Cap: Wilder's action refused, to obey the Captain's order, and requested me to get an order from you to pay over the rent to me

If it meets your approval Col. to send an order to that effect, direct it to Norfolk care of Rice and Brother.
