thirty five 55/100 dollars ($6335. 55/100). With the exception of a small portion cultivated by my family it is put out [[?]] to my neighbors to be cultivated on shares, they to receive two thirds for their labor, the remaining third to be paid as rent. There are no freedmen located upon the farm except those in my employ and with my consent. Neither the F. Bu-reau, nor the United States government have been at any expense either in the cultivation or management of the farm. The fences have also been kept up at my expense there by preventing the destruction of much of the crop. Much of the land being very low it is suffering much for want of drainage which should be done at this season before the rains set in.

The time is also rapidly approaching when wheat should be sowed, a crop of which I desire to put in. I also had the misfortune of being indebted to a number of loyal persons and infants, before the war, to a considerable amount, who desire payment as soon as possible. This arrangements for doing so are impracticable before the restoration of my property, which I again respectfully and earnestly ask may be speedily done, including the rent for the present year

Respectfully
H.F. Woodhouse
