Your petitioner has read the President's proclamation of the 29th May 1865 and States that his case does not come within any one of the exceptions therein contained. He files herewith also the Certificate of the Clerk of the District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia by which it will appear that [[strikethrough]] no [[/strikethrough]] proceedings have been set on foot by the Government of the United States for the Confiscation of the said house and lot, but that no trial as yet has been had.
