O. Brown Asst Com'r James A. Bates Capt & AAAG L.R. H. 151. 2d Vol. 1866. Bureau R F & A L H'd Qrs Asst Comr Va Richmond Va April 17th/66 How. W. S. Bt Maj & aqm Respty returned with the information that 19 Special Orders have been issued by the Supt of the 6th Dist, while but 18 are changed in Nos — also that S.O. 18 is dated April 6th/66 and S.O. 19 is dated April 10"/66, while by the within Circular No. 18. is made to date April 10th/66 and No 19 is not mentioned. The Asst Comr does not understand why so much trouble should arise in the matter after it having been explained so often & minutely, and for the Supt of the 6th Dist to send to this office a paper with so visible an error as this contains, shows a great negligence in him, in signing papers which he does not know to be correct. The Supt of 6th Dist is directed to comply with instructions already given in this matter and forward to this office immediately, a corrected Circular, being sure that it corrects all orders issued from his H'd Qrs since Jany 1st 1866.
