The Steam Saw Mill referred to by Mr Koones is the one transferred to me by Capt Nal [[Nat]] Low Jr AQM. for the use of Bureau RF & AL Octo 24th 1865. and is Known in the Bureau as the "Tanner's Creek Mill". It being very much out of repairs and standing on land not in the hands of the Bureau. and the timber being scarce in that locality. I accepted a proposition from Mr L. Reynolds and leased the Mill to him for one year at ($1000.) one thousand dollars payable in monthly installments The Mill was repaired and by my consent removed at the expense of Mr Reynolds. who has but just begun to reap any benefit from it.
