Respectfully forwarded to Brig. Genl. O. Brown A.A.A.G. Bu. State Va.
This request is made at my suggestion after carefully inquiring into matter stated.
The oven will allow a continuance of a great saving to the Hospital food and add much to comfort of patients.
The increase of patients and the establishment of a "Home" at Hospital for old persons, as also ward for insane persons makes it highly necessary that this oven should be built immediately.

Respectfully returned with the remark that the War Dept ration established for freedmen and refugees was furnished to Mr. Richard Bryan.

It is supposed that no other ration is authorized. No reason is known why he as an exception should be furnished with the luxuries instead of the necessaries of life.
