Lawson adduced evidence to prove said property and Mr. Shelton gave him up. 
I transmit herewith an affidavit sworn to before a justice of the peace of Mr Green R. Connor who was present at the time of the transaction. The Horse left with Mrs. Lawson as well as the one claimed by Mr. Shelton was broken down. The horse is at present in the possession of Mr. Issac C Adams of Patrick. Co. Va.

Wild the sum of $300. to be deposited in the "Norfolk Savings Bank" - that he had never received a Bank book or receipt for the same. although he had repeatedly asked for them.
