Morse Supt 4 - Dist Va to Capt R.S. Lacy Supt of Dist Lynchburg Va. The warrant for the arrest of Richard Stratton. I have sent to Mr. Thompson Adams, North Garden Alber-Marle Co. with instructions to arrest the offender at once and give notice to the complainant, Jack White and Lieut Stevenson Asst Supt for Nelson Co. of the day of trial. Also to subpoena the witnesses for the commonwealth to be present at the examination. The offince having been committed in Nelson County it was necessary that the warrant should issue from, and the hearing be before a magistrate of that county. Persons charged with crime must be tried in the county where the offence was committed.
