Respectfully returned to the Asst Com'r. According to the within statement of Lieut Massey Asst Supt the "Whitaker Farm" is said to contain "six hundred and twenty acres of land mostly woodland."
The "Whitaker farm" was reported in August 1865 by Capt Flagg in his transfer to Capt Wilder, and regularly, since that time on the returns of Capt Wilder for the months of September, October and November 1865. (Number of acres being omitted). After November 1865 only reports of changes have been forwarded pursuant to orders. By error this farm had been dropped from Lt Massey's papers.

The men who endorsed them and signed their names to them, I find upon inquiry to be reliable men and good citizens. The Mr. Johnson referred to within give it as his reasons for not calling upon the military authorities at Bristol Va, "the removal of the Com'd before he had time to do so."
