Columbus Miss Sept 23d./66
Respectfully returned to Major A. W. Preston A.A.A. Genl Bureau RF & AL State of Miss. with the information that I saw Mr Timberlake personally who stated that Moses Scott is now living on a plantation of his near Okalona, that Moses wishes to live with this woman and provide for her & his child, but has not the means to bring them here.
It appears about the breaking out of the war, that Lilly Ann's former husband, by whom she had five or six children, left, when Moses took up with her.
