Sir,
In reply to certain questions propounded to the Board of Overseers of the Poor for Page County, I would say: The Board of Overseers can only make such provision for the paupers of the county, as the law under which they are acting authorities. The accommodations at the Poor House at this time not being sufficient for all the White paupers of the county; yet, they have so far, provided for all destitute paupers white and black who have properly come under their notice.
The county court of the county always acts in levying the fund for the paupers of all destitute persons of the county; which body I presume would be the proper one to confer with in relation to the enquiries propounded.
