Dear Sir

Yours of the 29 March, came to hand yesterday  In reply the Bord at its last meeting agreed to take care of the destitute Negro in the same way we do the whites  Our mode or Rule has been to set out the Poor to their best friend that will undertake their support, & pay them such sum as may be agreed on. We have a poor house where we send such as have no friend to undertake for them  We had only one destitute negro a woman & child we made such allowance as the overseers of that district thought necessary for her & child

I do not expect there will to be [[strikethrough]] much [[/strikethrough]] many. Destitut negroes that chose to remain with their masters have ther support
