Dear Sir
At a meeting of the Board of Overseers of the Poor for Pittsylvania County held at the Poor House today, in answer to the several interrogatories propounded thereto the following order was passed,

That the Overseers of the poor, if in their opinion the case seems a proper one to be assisted, the overseer in his district, may dispose of such coloured person, provided they have no relatives, as is usual with the whites, and that nothing is to be allowed for their maintenance outside of the poor house.
