Answer to question II - It is understood that the law provides for the maintenance of destitute colored persons, having "a legal" settlement in the county, in the same manner as is provided for destitute white persons, and the board considers it their duty to provide for all such destitute persons without distinction of color-

Answer to question II II - It is improbable at this time, to state, with accuracy, the extent & character of such assistance, as the County levy cannot be laid before our same Court, but it is confidently expected that these will be enough to render all such destitute persons comfortable, and we would very willingly give out as apprentices such colored minors as would be otherwise chargable

Answer to question II II II - We cannot answer this question in our duty, to regulate our conduct by the law of the state, which have been in such matters. We believe that the General assembly, at its, late session benefits of government alike on all persons without distinction this understanding of the Legislation of the State.

The Board will please answer the foregoing questions clearly & oblige

Very Respectfully &c
