Answer, to question First. The board will provide for the Col. paupers - So soon as funds are in hand.- Any number,- in part or altogether as necesity may require- as the do for white persons- according to the Statues of the State.
2nd The character of said maintenance is controlled, by the ability in part- say bread meat & sugar with coffee. & common clothing heretofore, beding included;

Our laws require that the white & col. Paupers heretofore if able shall be under control of thair Superintendant and made to work & col. Paupers would occupy the same position now as all others.

The board is not prepaired to provide for the paupers now on hand and as matter of cours are unprepaired to maintain others

The above answers we respectfully submit in the absence of the board as President of said board - and as Superintendant of the poor, & thairby thair representatives [[strikethrough]] [[/strikethrough]]
