0202 Lancaster County Va. Burgess, B. G. Chairman of Board of Overseers of the Poor. Stats that the Board will provide for the maintenance and Assistance of destitute Colored persons having a residence in thier [[their]] co in the same manner as is provided for destitute white persons That the extent and character of such assistance will be enough to prevent suffering. The rule of action the Board proposes for thier [[their]] own government upon the whole subject of Colored paupers, is that they will provide for them the best they can.
