To J. Arnold Yeckley
Lt & Asst Supt
Bureau R.F. and A.L.

At your request, we have taken the subject of taking freed persons at the Poor House, and have come to the conclusion: that they can not be provided for the present year, no appropriation have been made for them, and there is no house room.

In reply to an interrogatory: What rule of action does the Board propose for their own Government on the whole subject of Colored paupers? In reply we answer - We recommend, that they will be provided for in the same way as white paupers.

Respectfully Submitted

G.O. Hardy, Pres't of Board of Overseers of the Poor.
