Office of Asst. Supt. R.F & A.L.
Tappahannock, Essex Co. Va
May 11, 1866.

Bvt. Maj. T.F.P. Crandon,
A.Q.M. & Supt. R.F. & A.L.

Major;
I have the honor to make the following report of the amount of labor wanted in this Sub. Dist.

There are enough Freedmen in this Sub. Dist. to do all the labor, but at present a great many are engaged in fishing and oystering, that will soon close and the farmers will then get all the laborers they require.

I am, Major,
Very Respectfully, Your Obt. Servt.,
Watson B. Wentworth
2nd Lieut. 9th Regt. VRC &
Asst. Supt. R.F.& A.L.
