am obliged to show to Majo's police, who stop on nearly every corner of the street, and make it nearly impossible for me to carry on my business. I have lived here 40 years, have never received a stripe, and was never before arrested for any cause whatever. I will take oath to the above, and can refer to hundreds of the best men in this city, who will certify to my good character and veracity.
