On, or about the 13th inst. two Freedwomen were arrested and brought before a magistrate here at the C. H. charged with having attempted to administer poison to their employer. The testimony not being sufficient to sustain the accusation they were acquitted-

I have the honor therefore to report, that in my opinion the Freedmen in Dinwiddie Co. Va., have in all cases of adjudication by the State Authorities been treated with impartiality and fairness, thus far. and the law respecting their testimony carried and in good faith.
