While the negro set suddenly free assumes a position the feelings of the whites cannot accord with, - still in his ignorance - that has no weight, and collisions inevitably follow, - although a certain class of whites in his immediate neighborhood who advise hime to do wrong, will not in public state that which they do to him in secret - thus set upon the negro is invariably defeated and the reason to this Bureau is plain.
