In compliance with Paragraph 6 Circular No 10 dated Bureau R F and A Lands Hd. Qrs. Asst. Comr. State of Va. Richmond Va. March 12th 1866. I have the honor respectfully to submit the following report.

During the past month I have been in attendance at the several Courts of the Sub-district, watching the proceedings in all cases effecting the interest of the freedman.

I had occasion on the 21st Inst, to bring before your Notice, the case of a freedboy who was arrested, for having upon his person, a cap, said to have been stolen from the store of Mr Pinkett - This report was forwarded from Head Quarters, to his honor the Mayor, who upon reading it publicly before the Court flatly denied the authenticity of the statement.

This report was published in the columns of the Richmond Press, reflecting in the severest terms upon my honor as an officer and a gentleman. I would again
