larceny of Tobacco the evidence was strong against him and the jury found him guilty and he was sentenced to receive twenty five lashes  

3rd  Thomas Roland (Freedman) charged with larceny of two Jacknives and a Razor the Jury could not agree and the case was continued till next February

4th Tusy.- (freedwoman) charged with larceny of Butter and Crocks  She plead guilty and was sentenced to three months imprisonment in the county jail

4th  Thomas Richards. (White) charged with stealing an axe from a Freedman was found guilty and sentenced to receive ten lashes 

The above cases were tried at the quarterly term of the County Court of Madison Co. in the month of October and are the only cases tried during the month in the sub dist. in which freedmen were a party
