imprisonment in the state Penitentiary. The proof was not clear that he (Curtis) stole the horse (mule), but it was found secreted in his possession and he would not tell from whom he received the horse or how he came by him, with any proof. He is a Freedman of bad character. Was jailed for sixty days by the Freedmen's Court of this Sub. Dist. only last winter for stealing.
