Reports in compliance with Cir No. 10 of date March 12th 1866, there have been several freedmen tried by the Civil authorities, and all but one convicted. Has never, as yet, been notified of the trials of freedmen. The freedmen have never been allowed the priviledge to notify him of the time their trials take place. A Writ of Error has been obtained in the case of the Freedmen condemned to be hung for burning jail.
