I have the honor to report that three (3) Freedpeople were tried at the last sitting of the County Court for the County of Wythe on charge of Grand Larceny and all three (3) of them were sent on to trial before the Judge of this circuit to be finally disposed of, at his next term of the Court which will be in January next.

Two of the persons tried were females named Hannah Mays and Eliza Johnson both of whom applied to the Judge for a writ of Habeas Corpus, which writ was granted by the Judge of this circuit AS Fulton, and the parties brought before him, and the case was ably argued by counsel on both sides whereupon the
