Major:- In compliance with circular No 10 dated Bureau of R.F. and A.L. Head Quarters Asst Comr State of Va Richmond Va March 12th 1866, I have the honor to report that but one case where a colored person was directly interested has been tried before the civil courts of this county during the present month. Henry [[Bent/Bond]] [[?]] Charles [[Mires]] for the sum of $19. for labor performed and succeeded in getting a judgement for $16. the defendant made no defense [[further]] [[then offered]] an acct of $3. as an offset which was allowed.
