Office Asst Supt Dist of Essex, King & Queen & Middlesex Cos Tappahannock, Va. Dec 31, 1866 Wentworth, Watson R. Lieut. and Asst Supt. Reports in compliance with Circular No. 10, there has been no Freedmen tried by the Civil Courts in that Sub Dist. since his last report. The man who was sent from that Co. to Richmond Co. jail for stealing, and who has been suffering for want of Clothing and fuel, is to be released on bail. The sheriff, having the order for his release, cannot cross the river on account of ice, although he had the order long before ice was in the river. 10 Bureau R.F. and A.L.
