1867 when Garrett was committed for examination by the County Court. That said County Court on the 29th. day of January commenced the examination of said Garrett and on the 30th the Court having fully heard the evidence sent the prisoners on for trial by the Circuit Court of this County, which convenes on the 13th day of May 1867.
In consequence of the ill health of the prisoner the extreme cold weather, and the uncomfortable condition of the Jail, the prisoner was admitted to bail in the Sum of $500. which amount was held as high bail considering the circumstances of the accused.
That at the term of the said County Court, Braxten Henry, freedmen, was examined for feloney, [[felony]] for Stabing [[stabbing]] Bob Hill, an original free negro, and was acquitted thereof. The evidence going to show to them that it was done in Self defence. No others cases were brought before the Civil Court during the present month.
