Brevet Major J. R. Stone
Supt. 2 Dist Va
Petersburg Va

Sir:
I have the honor to submit the following "Report of Criminal Trials" required by Circular No. 10. from Hd Qrs Asst. Comr

I have attended the Trials before the County Court. I found that Colored witnesses were introduced in cases in which Colored persons were interested parties, but I do not think their evidence is allowed much, if any, weight in the decisions

I did not see a Case tried in which anything besides Circumstantial evidence was introduced

I defer Comments upon this class of evidence, and the manner of its introduction until the cases come before the Circuit Court.

Geo T. Cook
1st Lieut V.R.C. and Asst. Supt.
