Reports four white men named Chester, Read, White, and Ferris searching the house of two colored men named Chester and Fulks without a warrant and against their remonstrances. Upon the case being referred -- to Mr Jackson a Magistrate, he declined to take any action, stating that if the Officer desired to have it brought before the Grand Jury, he must do so himself, which he proposes doing.
